Do one thing at a time - Living in the present!
Late at night, when the caravan was silent and the desert was almost as vast and silent as the heavens, the young boy became frightened. Just a single cry from a camel- a sound that he had once thought normal - made everyone around him uneasy, as it could be a sign of attack. But the camel driver seemed unbothered by the threat of war.
“I live only in the present, the camel driver said one evening, as they ate a simple meal together in the open desert with no fire and no moon. When I’m running, I run. If I have to fight, it will be just as beautiful a day to die as any other day. I don’t live in either my past or my future; I only have the present, and that’s all I care about.
If you can stay in the present moment, you’ll be a happy man. You’ll see that the desert is alive, the heavens are full of stars, and that people are fighting because they’re part of the human race.
Life will be a party, a grand festival, because life is the moment we’re living right now.
Two nights later, as they were preparing for sleep, the boy looked up at the star that had been guiding them. To his surprise, he saw that the horizon seemed closer, because there were so many stars in the sky.
That is the oasis, said the camel driver.
So why don’t we go there immediately?
BECAUSE WE NEED TO SLEEP.
